The Church of San Sepolcro in Milan was founded in 1030 and originally dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
Its crypt contains a rare copy of Christ’s tomb, made by a master from Campione in the early 14th century.
The floor of the crypt is paved with 4th-century Roman marble slabs taken from the ancient Forum of Milan.
Saint Charles Borromeo chose the church as his personal prayer place and spent nights adoring the tomb’s simulacrum.
